Sweet Paniyaram

Ingredients:

Raw rice(Pachaarisi) 1 cup

Idly rice 1 cup

Urad dal 2 tsp

Fenugreek seeds 1 tsp

Salt little

Cooked rice 1 cup

Karupatti 2 large size

Baking soda little (optional)

Sukku powder little (optional)

Cardamom powder little

Ghee/Oil as required


Method:

Wash Raw rice, idly rice, urad dal ,fenugreek seeds & soak for 5 to 6 hours.

In the mixier/grinder, Add socked rice and cooked rice ,grind everything together.

Add small amount of water, grind into idly batter consistency.

Let it sit for 8 to 10 hours to get batter fermented.

Before making paniyaram, make karupatti syrup.

Boil broken karupatti and 1/2 cup of water, cook till everything melted and came to syrup consistency.

Drain it to remove any impurities.

Let it cool down for few mins and add to the batter.

Add salt, baking soda, sukku powder, cardamom powder, syrup into batter & mix it well.

Heat the appe pan, add ghee/oil, pour paniyaram batter and close the lid.

After a min, flip it other side, cook in low medium flame.

Now Hot Sweet paniyaram is ready to serve as evening snack.
