
Ingredients:
Prawns 1/2 kg
Onion 1
Tomato 1
Ginger garlic paste. 1 tsp
Coconut milk 1/2 cup
Green chilly 2
Curry leaves 5 to 7
Oil 3 tsp
Coriander leaves for garnishing
Salt for taste
For powder:
Cloves 2
Staranise 1
Cardamom 2
Cinnamon stick 1
Fennel seeds 1/2 tsp
For marinate:
Chilly powder 1 tsp
Coriander powder. 1 tsp
Turmeric powder. 1/4 tsp
Chicken masala 1 tsp (optional)
Method:
In Pestle and mortar ,add powder section ingredients, cloves, star-anise ,cardamom ,cinnamon stick ,fennel seeds , grind into powder .(see the picture).
In the bowl, add cleaned prawns, add chilly powder ,coriander powder ,turmeric powder , chicken masala powder ,and little salt ,mix it well and marinate for 30 mins.
In the large pan, pour oil ,add powder ,curry leaves ,green chilly and fry it.
Add sliced onions ,cook it becomes translucent.
Add ginger garlic paste, fry it .
Add chopped tomatoes and cook it is soft.
Add marinated prawns , mix it well, cook for 1 min
Add salt , little water ,cover cook in the low flame for 15 mins.
Add coconut milk and cook for 5 more mins in medium low flame.
Garnish with coriander leaves and switch off the flame.
Prawn Gravy is ready to serve with Parrota/Dosa.
