
Ingredients:
Green peas 2 cups
Mustard seeds 1 tsp
Urad dal 1 tsp
Curry leaves 5 to 8
Onion 1
Oil 2 tsp
Salt for taste
For Masala paste:
Coconut 3 tsp
Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
Fennel seeds 1/2 tsp
Poppy seeds 1/2 tsp
Green chilly 3
Garlic 5 to 6
Method:
Pressure cook ( 2 whistles) /Cook the green peas and keep aside.
For masala paste, Grind all the items with required water and keep aside.
In the pan, pour oil ,add mustard seeds , urad dal ,fry for few seconds.
Add curry leaves ,chopped onions , cook it becomes translucent.
Add masala paste ,1 cup of water and bring to boil.
Add cooked green peas ,salt and cover cook for 15 mins.
(If you are adding green peas directly , add more water)
Once the masala is cooked well and dry ,switch off the flame.
Easy Madurai style Green peas poriyal is ready .
