Gongura Chicken Gravy

Ingredients:

Chicken 1/2 kg

Gongura leaves Handful

Onion 1

Green chilly 2

Coriander powder. 1 tsp

Cinnamon stick 1

Bay leaves 1

Cloves 3

Star anise 2

Oil 3 tsp

Salt for taste


For marination:

Chilly powder 1 tsp

Curd 3 tsp

Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp

Lemon Juice 1 tsp

Ginger garlic paste 1 tsp

Salt little


For Tempering:

Cumin seeds 1 tsp

Red chilly 2

Curry leaves 10

Oil 1 tsp


Method:

Marinate the chicken with all the items in marination section for 2 to 6 hours.

Boil 1 cup of water, add gongura leaves and cook for few mins.

Once cooked and cool down ,grind into smooth paste and keep aside.

In the pan, pour oil, add all spicy items,(Cinnamon stick, bay leaves ,cloves ,star anise chopped onions, green chilly and fry it for few mins.

Add gongura paste, cook for 2 mins.

Add marinated chicken, coriander powder, salt,1 cup of water and mix it well.

Cover cook chicken for 15 mins in medium flame.

For tempering,In the another pan, in 1 tsp oil.add cumin seeds, red chilly, curry leaves, fry it.

Pour it to the gravy once the chicken gravy is ready and oil separates.

Gongura Chicken Gravy is ready to serve with Rice/Chapathi.
