
Ingredients:
Fish 1/2 kg
Onion 1/2
Red chilly 8
Cumin seeds 2 tsp
Grated Coconut 2 tsp
Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
Oil 3 tsp
Tamarind Big Lemon size
Salt for taste.
Method:
Soak tamarind in water for 30 mins and extract the pulp and keep aside.
Wash fish fillets with turmeric powder & keep aside.
Grind onion, red chilly, cumin seeds, and coconut & paste is ready.
In the pan, add ground masala and cook for 5 mins.
Add tamarind water, turmeric powder, salt, cook in medium heat for 10 mins.
Add cleaned fish and cook for another 10 mins.
Don’t stir the gravy once you put the fish, if not it might end up breaking into pieces.
Switch off the flame once the fishes are cooked, gravy becomes thick and oil separates.
Madurai Style Fish Kulambu is ready.
