
Ingredients:
Big Onion 1
Tomato 2
Green Chilly 2
Chilly powder 1 tsp
Coriander powder 2 tsp
Cumin powder 1 tsp
Garam masala 1/2 tsp
Ginger Garlic Paste 1 tsp
Kasthuri methi 1/2 tsp
Oil 3 tsp
Coriander leaves. little
Salt for taste.
For marination:
Chicken 1/2 kg
Ginger Garlic Paste 1 tsp
Chilly Powder 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder 1/4 tsp
Salt little
Method:
Marinate the chicken pieces with ginger garlic paste, 1 chilly powder ,turmeric powder & salt for 30 mins.
Puree the tomatoes, grind into paste and keep aside.
In the large pan, heat 3 tbsp oil.
Add the marinated chicken and cook on high to medium heat for around 5 mins.
Now lower heat , continue to cook for another 10 mins till chicken is half cooked and keep aside.
Heat the same pan, add the chopped onions ,green chillies and fry till light brown.
Now add the ginger garlic paste and fry for few seconds. Add red chilly powder, coriander powder and cumin powder.
Mix it well and fry it for 2-3 mins on low heat (adding a splash of water to prevent it from burning. )
Add tomato puree, garam masala powder , salt , 1 cup of water and bring to boil.
Now transfer the half cooked chicken pieces to the gravy and mix it well .
Cover cook till the chicken is coated with the masala and oil separates. Lastly ,add kasturi methi ,chopped coriander leaves and give a mix.
Dhaba Chicken curry is ready to serve with chapathi /rice.
