
Ingredients:
Chicken with bone 1/2 kg
Basmati rice 2 cup
Onion 1
Cardamom 2
Cinnamon stick 1
Star anise 2
Bay leaves 2
Cloves 3
Ginger paste 1 tsp
Garlic paste 1/2 tsp
Green chilly 2
Coriander leaves Handful
Mint leaves Handful
Chilly powder 1 1/2 tsp
Curd 4 tsp
Tomato 1
Oil 4 tsp
Salt for taste.
Method:
Soak rice in the water for 30 mins.
Boil 4 cups of water with salt, once it started to boil, add soaked rice ,cook till 50 % done, drain it and keep aside.
In the pan, pour oil, add all spicy items ,Cardamom ,cinnamon stick , stat anise, bay leaves, cloves and sliced onions.
Cook in the low medium flame for 10 mins.
Once onions becomes golden brown & crispy,
Add green chilly, chopped coriander, mint leaves and fry for few more mins.
Add Chilly powder and mix it well, cook for few more mins.
Add ginger garlic paste and mix it well.
Add curd ,mix it well, then add chopped tomatoes ,salt and cook for 5 mins.
Now add 2 cups of water ,once it started to boil, add chicken pieces and cover cook for 5 mins.
Add 50% cooked rice, spread evenly.
There must enough water to cover rice, if not add some water.(see the pic)
Cover cook the biryani in high flame for 5 mins and low flame for 20 mins.
Yummy Muslim style Chicken Biryani is ready to serve with Onion Raita and Boiled Egg.
