
Ingredients:
Tamarind lemon size
Tomato 1
Garlic 4 to 5
Curry leaves little
Black pepper 1/2 tsp(optional)
Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp( optional)
Pepper powder. 1 tsp
Cumin powder. 1 tsp
Rasam powder. 1 tsp (optional)
Hing 1/4 tsp
Mustard seeds. 1 tsp
Fenugreek seeds. 1/2 tsp
Red chilly 2
Oil 1 tsp
Salt for taste
Coriander leaves little.
Method:
Soak tamarind in the water 30 mins.
Add some water and dissolve tamarind ,remove pulp and keep aside.
Grind tomato ,garlic ,2 to 3 curry leaves , black pepper ,cumin seeds ,grind it and keep aside.
Black pepper and cumin seeds are optional,Anyway we are going to add powders ,but grinding some fresh seeds gives more flavors.
Add the tomato paste to tamarind water.
Heat the pan, add 1 tsp of oil ,add mustard seeds ,once it crackled ,add curry leaves ,red chilly and fenugreek seeds ,fry it.
Pour Tamarind water slowly ,add pepper powder ,cumin powder ,rasam powder (for more flavor),hing and mix it well.
After 2 to 3 mins ,once it started to boil from the corner, remove from heat.
In the container, add salt and coriander leaves ,keep aside.
Add the rasam in the container ,mix it well.
Tomato Pepper Rasam is ready .
