Parrupu Keerai(Spinach Dal)

Ingredients:

Toor dal 1/2 cup

Spinach 1/2 bag

Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp

Mustard seeds 1 tsp

Urad dal 1 tsp

Onion 1/2

Red Chilly 2

Curry leaves little

Asfoetida powder 1/4 tsp

Oil 2 tsp

Salt for taste.


Method:

Pressure cook the dal with water,1 tsp oil, turmeric powder, little salt for 3 to 4 whistles and keep aside.

Wash the spinach And keep aside.

In the pan, add 1 tsp oil, add mustard seeds ,once it crackled, add urad dal and fry it.

Add red chilly, curry leaves, chopped onions and fry for few more mins.

Add asfoetida powder, turmeric powder and fry it.

Add washed spinach ,salt and cook for 5 mins.

Add cooked dal and cook for 2 mins.

Now Parrupu keerai (spinach dal ) is ready to serve with hot steamed rice.
