
Ingredients:
Raw rice 2 cup
Moong dal 1/2 cup
Water 6 1/2 cup
Milk 1 cup
Cashew 10
Pepper 1 tsp
Cumin seeds 1 tsp
Ginger 1 inch
Ghee 4 tsp
Curry leaves little
Salt for taste.
Method:
Soak rice with dal in the water for 15 to 20 mins.
Cook rice in 6 1/2 cup water ,1 cup milk ,required salt and keep aside.
I used rice cooker, it took 45 mins.
if you are using Pressure cooker ,cook for 3 whistles.
In the pan ,add ghee, once melted add cashew nuts, pepper, curry leaves, cumin seeds, chopped ginger and fry for few seconds.
Pour all the fried items into cooked pongal and mix it well.
Now Ven pongal is ready to serve with chutney and sambar.
